An airframe is the basic mechanical structure of an aircraft includes the main structural components, such as the wing, the fuselage, and the empennage, which are supported by items such as stringers, longerons, bulkheads, etc. Airframe attachments include any component that is attached to the airframe’s main structural components. Attachments include landing gear, powerplants, exterior lights, etc.

Subassembly is a term used to describe the construction of an object; they are independently assembled units intended to be incorporated into a larger product. Airframe subassemblies include the wings, empennage, fuselage, powerplant, and landing gear.
